Simplifying QuickBooks

QuickBooks is presented as a tool for storing transaction data for your business. In this basic introduction, you will see how the user interface works. The different versions of QuickBooks will be compared, so you can make the choice that best meets your needs. You will be prepared for free, one-on-one sessions with a SCORE mentor to help your set up your company in QuickBooks, begin the data entry process, and generate your financial reports. Supporting the presentation are several short video tutorials using the online version of Quickbooks. There is time allowed for discussion and answering questions.  This is not a hands-on workshop, so a computer is not needed. At the mentoring sessions after the workshop, we will help you individually to set up your business in QuickBooks with an appropriate chart of accounts and with an understanding of how to do data entry.

As another good resource, we find this youtube tutorial from Hector Garcia, CPA to be helpful:

If you are an experienced QuickBooks user who needs help, please skip this workshop and go online to http://www.austin.score.org  to request free individual QuickBooks mentoring sessions.
