WELCOME STUDENTS!

Come learn how to use STEM to make a greener world through an exciting, virtual mentoring format! You will be face-to-virtual-face with dozens of STEM professionals from industry, government academia and non-profits, with an opportunity to explore STEM career pathways in five areas:

  • Engineering and Technology
  • Natural and Physical Sciences
  • Biomimicry and Biotechnology
  • Environmental Art, Ethics and Design
  • Advanced Manufacturing

The Green STEM Summit is completely free and features 15-minute Q & A sessions with STEM professionals. Plus, all attendees will be automatically entered to win a special STEM prize! (Must be online during the announcement to claim prize.) All teachers, mentors, students, staff and volunteers must register to participate in the Green STEM Summit. Accommodations are limited, so register early!

VIRTUAL SESSION FORMAT

Using the Green STEM Summit Schedule, you will be able to choose 15-minute Zoom sessions with STEM professionals in six different STEM Tracks that will be offered. Discussion topics will vary within the six Tracks, but there will always be time at the end of each session for live Q & A with the mentors.

GREEN STEM VIDEO COMPETITION! - ENTRIES ARE CLOSED

Work alone or gather a team of up to five students, then enter and share your insights on critical environmental issues through the Green STEM Video Competition. Video topics should focus on using STEM to solve important sustainability issues including climate change, natural resource conservation, recyclable materials, sustainable foods, Santa Clara River Watershed, biodiversity, water quality or another STEM-related topic. Check out the judge's Video Tips, and Rubric for guidance.

SCEEC will categorize video submissions into each of the five STEM career pathway areas listed above, and prizes will be awarded in each area: (1st, 2nd and 3rd in each - 15 awards!)

  • 3rd Prize - $50
