Completing one of San Francisco’s first true Type IV-HT heavy timber buildings, this team of architect, contractor, and engineer will discuss the challenges posed by site constraints, jurisdictional approvals, and utilizing mass timber to meet the desires of the client. As mass timber makes a resurgence, dusting off the code and designing a structure that is also the finish poses questions and approaches discussed by each team member, creating the successful 1 De Haro project.
