NYPGA 2020 Emergency Response Refresher Training

NYPGA is hybridizing our Propane Emergencies Training for 2020, scheduled online and live in October. We urge you to register for this FREE TRAINING to better serve propane emergencies in your area and enhance coordination and relationships with police and fire departments.

 You (and perhaps others at your company) may need a Refresher to remain current in your Certification as a Propane Emergency Responder in your region. We appreciate your commitment to this important role.

 Geared towards Experienced Propane Professionals who have completed a Propane Emergencies Course and desire to refresh as per NFPA 58 and OSHA Hazwoper directives.

 EVENT INFORMATION:

Offered over 2 half day sessions - Attendance is MANDATORY for BOTH Virtual Sessions to receive Attendance or a Refresher Certificate:

Thursdays, October 15th and October 22nd                 

8:00 am – 11:30 am 

 And a Save the Date of October 29th for 8 hour, live session for hand- on activities (TBD as per NYS COVID19 at that current time). Location TBD and confirmed within the online session training days.

 IMPORTANT: Attendance will not be restricted - Industry Professionals who wish to attend to learn more are recommended to have completed a pre-requisite of CETP 1.0 Basic and Principles and Properties in order to receive a certificate of attendance.

 Cost – No Charge

 Silverback Consulting to host sessions from Propane University “Virtual Training Room.”

 Attendance is Mandatory for both Virtual Sessions to receive Attendance or Refresher certificate, hands on portion (if completed) may be applied to future Propane Emergencies course offerings to satisfy basic requirements.

 Course Content

Session 1: 

  • “What exactly is required to be considered a Propane Emergency Responder” as outlined in NFPA Code and OSHA Standards”
  • Practical Proapne Industry Skills that may be required and adapted in an Emergency Response Event”
  • Fire Department Tactics and Resources that provide additional Emergency Response Options
  • Review of Advance techniques such as Propane Transfers, Propane Evacuation and Propane Elimination

(Transfers, Flaring, Water Injection etc…)

 Session 2:

  • Case Study and Real Emergency Scenarios discussion for mititgation steps, successes and challenges
  • Use of Visuals, Videos and practical examples to apply Propane Emergency theories, Strategies and Tactics
  • Round Table Question and Answer section

 Session 3: – TBD if possible – Practical Skill Stations – (Hudson Valley location)

  • Flaring,
  • Product Transfer,
  • Patching/Plugging of leaks,
  • Cargo Tank and Plant Safety Engineering Features
