Running a business has risks associated with it. There are simple steps business owners can take to protect their personal and business assets against those risks. This workshop will look at ways to protect assets through business formation decisions, trade secret protection, and appropriate legal documents. It is always better to make some protective decisions early on than to put out fires later.

Jennifer is Principal Attorney at Law Office of Jennifer D. Ward in Austin, Texas. She is licensed to practice in the State of Texas, the State of California, the Western District of Texas, the Southern District of Texas, the Eastern District of California, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Her practice focuses on employment law and general counsel services for small businesses and non-profits. She is involved in many legal and community organizations. She is the 2019-2020 Treasurer-Elect for the Travis County Women Lawyers Association and is active in several sections of the Austin Bar Association. Ms. Ward enjoys giving presentations on a variety of legal topics.

Cancellation Policy: 

If you need to cancel you must notify us via email 7 days prior to the workshop date. A confirmation of your cancellation will be sent once it is received. Calling the SCORE Fort Worth office is not acceptable for a cancellation notice. All no-shows or cancellations after 7 days will lose their paid workshop fees. 

All workshop fees must be paid in advance prior to workshop date. For security purposes we will not be able to accept payment for workshops at the door unless workshop is being held at James E. Guinn complex in Fort Worth, TX. 

CANCELLATION NOTICES MUST BE IN WRITING AND EMAILED TO: Jenny Day at ch.admin0120@scorevolunteer.org. Any other means of cancellation will not be accepted.
