Inaugural Mid-Atlantic Public Health Conference

The State of Our Region's Health:
Empowering Communities to Address the Social Determinants of Health

With COVID-19 cases rising and public health measures intensifying, we are reminded once again of how critical our work is. We know that we must work together to create a strong public health infrastructure for the well-being of our communities. More importantly, the COVID-19 pandemic has taught us that public health issues, as well as their solutions, do not recognize state lines.

We are channeling the region’s public health expertise to host the first ever Mid-Atlantic Public Health Conference on January 14 and 15, 2021. This virtual conference is organized and convened by the Mid-Atlantic Partnership that consists of the public health associations of Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware.

Together, this coalition of public health professionals is working toward improvement of public health in our region. The virtual conference has a rich agenda related to the theme, “Empowering Communities to Address the Social Determinants of Health.” Every topic on the agenda will havea public health expert from each state to bring a regional perspective to the discussion of these important issues. This conference will provide public health students, professionals, and partners across our region with the opportunity to learn about and engage in discussions on innovative strategies addressing the most pressing issues in the region.
