This workshop is designed to equip clinicians with the knowledge and skills to assist couples in strengthening their relationship during this unique climate of a pandemic. It will include specific strategies, tools, and methods for clinicians to utilize to assist couples in navigating their relationship during this challenging time. 

Who Should Attend: 

Social Workers, Mental Health Counselors, Creative Arts Therapists, Marriage and Family Therapists, and any professional that is working in the mental health field

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will gain knowledge of specific methods, skills, and strategies to use with couples in couples therapy
  • Participants will develop an awareness of common relationship issues in a pandemic
  • Participants will gain knowledge of adapting previous therapy skills to the current online climate

About the Presenter

Saadia Z. Yunus is a licensed marriage and family therapist, trauma specialist, motivational speaker, and community leader. She has over 10 years of experience working with individuals, couples, families, and groups. Her passion is to engage with people on a personal level to uplift them into discovering the best version of themselves. In addition to therapy, she achieves this through motivational and trauma-informed presentations and workshops throughout the country. Saadia Yunus owns a private practice in Deer Park, NY and offers online therapy to anyone in the state of NY. She serves on the advisory board of Dolan Family Health Center, the social media team of the NY Marriage and Family Therapy Network, and the board of the national men’s mental health organization, The Barbershop Group. She is also the cofounder of Muslimahs of Long Island. Saadia Yunus was raised in Bonifay, Florida and currently resides on Long Island, NY with her mother-in-law, husband, and four children.
