Innovations in addiction treatment 

Join us for “Innovations in addiction treatment” to learn about the latest trends in medication-assisted treatment, the rising role of peer coaches and Oaklawn’s mobile opioid response team. Trainers are Dr. Krista Brucker, MD, an emergency medicine physician whose work in fighting opioid addiction is nationally recognized; Luke Lefever, LCSW, LCAC, MATS, addictions therapist and coordinator of the Mobile Opioid Response Team, and Brooke Marshall, MSW, LCSW, LCAC, addictions therapist, team leader and jail coordinator.

Learning Objectives:

During this 1.5 hour training, you will:

  • Learn about common medications used to treat addiction and how they work, as well as new developments in MAT
  • Understand the role of recovery coaches in treatment and where they serve at Oaklawn
  • Learn about the work of Oaklawn’s Mobile Opioid Response Team, both to individuals and the community, and how to engage its services

  • 8-9:15 a.m.: Presentation
  • 9:15-9:30 a.m.: Q&A
