Keeping up with Knowledge Translation

The Maritime SPOR SUPPORT Unit (MSSU), is excited to share with you a new capacity development pilot series, Keeping up with Knowledge Translation. Each session will touch on both the practice and science of KT and will highlight researchers and organizations in the Maritimes. 

The webinar series will be of interest to key stakeholders across the health care community including health care professionals, Patient Partners, trainees, policy-makers, and researchers.

This pilot series will take place every second month, with our first session being on Thursday, November 19th.  Please see below for event details and registration.

Session 1: The Science and Practice of Knowledge Exchange

Presenter(s):

Dr. Christine Cassidy, Assistant Professor, School of Nursing, Dalhousie University
Dr. Christine Cassidy 
received her BScN from the University of Prince Edward Island and PhD in Nursing from Dalhousie University. She completed a CIHR Health System Impact Postdoctoral Fellowship at the IWK Health Centre and University of Ottawa with the Integrated Knowledge Translation (IKT) Research Network. Her program of research uses an IKT approach to design, implement, and evaluate evidence-based practices and knowledge translation interventions in pediatric care.

Jo Parker, Managing Director, Solutions for Kids in Pain (SKIP)
SKIP’s Managing Director is responsible for the day-to-day planning and operations of SKIP, including finance, evaluation, strategic planning and management of SKIP’s administrative centre in Halifax.

Erin Aubrey, Eastern Region Knowledge Broker, Strategic Partnerships Lead, SKIP
In these roles, Erin acts as a change catalyst and connecter in the eastern region and works to synergize and leverage partnership opportunities to improve pain management for children.
