Pastoral Care and Crisis Intervention is a series of four sessions. Part I and II were held in 2019. This registration is only for Part III. (Part IV will be scheduled in October 2021).  This session will provide the most basic skills pastors need to begin to offer spiritual support and comfort to persons in our care. It will benefit deacons and other lay leaders, in addition to pastors. While the sessions build upon one another, participants will gain valuable information even if you can attend only one session.

Topics to Be Covered in Part III

  • Understanding Large Group Dynamics during Crisis
  • Listening Skills
  • Biblical Foundations
  • Group Interventional Practice

The Presenter: Dale Leverknight currently serves as a pastor of the Montgomery Church of the Brethren, and beginning January 1, 2021 will also pastor the Purchase Line Church of the Brethren, both in Western PA. He draws on years of experience in pastoral care, counseling, and emergency services. He has a BS degree in Biblical Studies/Theology and an MA in Christian Counseling, both from Eastern Mennonite University.

A Zoom link will be emailed to all registered participants a day or so before the event.

Registration fee is $50 for .5 CEUs, or $40 for no CEUs. You may pay online using credit card, or by check payable to "Susquehanna Valley Ministry Center" and mailed to:  Susquehanna Valley Ministry Center, One Alpha Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
