Mindful Arts & Crafts Fun for the Whole Family

Join CalVet Women Veterans for a special session on mindfulness that will be fun for all ages. Bring your entire household to the computer, especially the kids, for a fun art activity. All you need is a piece of paper and your favorite coloring crayons, pencil, or pen.

GAIL SOFFER is the daughter of a veteran and the Founder and Executive Director of the Mindful Veteran Project (MVP), a non-profit organization that guides veterans* in an orientation to and in actual, simple, secular practices of mindfulness, empowering them to cultivate their inner strengths, support their own wellbeing, participate in their own healing process, explore new possibilities, and enjoy the highest possible quality of life - to Be Free, Be Well, and Be Whole in their daily lives. Ms. Soffer has been a counselor for children from disadvantaged areas following riots, a movement/dance teacher to blind students, an arts & crafts workshop provider, the manager of a center for blind and autistic youth, and the director of endless projects helping others creatively overcome challenges and find “the gift in the wound.” She draws on her vast experience working with populations facing challenges as well as her personal decades-long practice of wellness modalities to bring customized mindfulness tools and support systems to military-connected individuals and those who care about them. * MVP includes Active Duty/Guard/Reserve members, their family members, and service providers/caregivers in their services as well.
