Wise Webinar Series:

Connecting, Job Coaching and Fading in the time of COVID

Panel with Chuck Goodwin, Michael Beasley and Lance Walcott

How to make it Billable: Billable vs. Non-Billable Part #2
Please join us on Wednesday, November 18th for our webinar, "Connecting, Job Coaching and Fading in the time of COVID" with Chuck Goodwin, Michael Beasley and Lance Walcott.

As the pandemic continues, stress and uncertainty have gripped us all.  Supported employment agencies have struggled to support those who work or seek employment yet are unable to work because of COVID concerns,  job development for those who are looking for work and job coaching, fostering self-management and fading to natural supports in an often times diminished work force.  This class will focus on how to stay connected to the persons we support, the businesses, and our own coworkers both remotely and in person where possible.  We will be joined by two co-presenters who are supported by employment agencies and have experienced the ups and down in employment during this time. They will share their stories and how they have stayed connected and they have shifted both their employment and career goals.

Learning Objectives (Info, tools, and skills attendees will receive):

  • Understand directly from the individuals we support their experiences during this time
  • Look at the barriers that exist to traditional employment supports
  • Learn innovative strategies that have been employed in ongoing support, social coaching, and self management.
  • How to encourage collaboration and support within our agencies and with the individuals we support
  • Tips for including individuals we support in developing support strategies

Do you require an accommodation, materials in alternate format or have inquiries about accessibility in this event? If so, please reach out to support@gowise.org no later than 5pm Friday prior to this webinar. Due to the short turnaround of our webinar series we are unable to accommodate same day requests. Supported employment is rooted in the firm belief that all people deserve respect, dignity, and self-determination.  Here at Wise, we are committed to standing up for and embracing positive changes in policies and practices to stamp out oppression and discrimination in our institutions and systems. We are focused on our mission of inclusion and equitable employment for people with disabilities. With this in mind, we ask that all participants extend respect, humility and grace during our events. We strive to create a learning platform where we all leave with new ways of thinking, doing and moving supported employment forward.
