Two sisters, who are both Deaf, have taken two different paths to discovering their identities and enjoying success as adults. Often, when a child is diagnosed with a hearing loss, their parents wonder about their future and the possibilities that it may hold for them. Along with their personal life experiences, Taryn’s experiences in mainstream programs for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (D/HH) and Kiley’s experiences at a school for the Deaf demonstrate that there are many different possibilities and paths for D/HH individuals to explore and find success in as they reach adulthood.
