This a course specifically designed for the PT, PTA and AT to receive hands on lab experience with evaluation and the application of the treatment techniques. The participants will learn to palpate specific landmarks associated with spinal dysfunction and when and how to apply muscle energy techniques. Muscle Energy is designed to improve segmental ROM and restore function with transitional activities enhancing patient outcomes with physical therapy. Muscle Energy is a safe and effective form of treatment intervention easy to apply and results in quick movement enhancement and pain relief.

Course Instructors
Angela Darragh PT, CFMM, OrthoNeuro, New Albany, Ohio. Mrs. Darragh is a licensed physical therapist and a 1977 graduate of The Ohio State University. She is the Director of Staff Development for OrthoNeuro’s Rehabilitative Services Division. Angela has been practicing in the Columbus area over 30 years with a specialization in Spinal Evaluation and Rehab. Angela received her Certification in Functional Manual Medicine in June 2016 from the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Michigan State University. She has extensive training in muscle energy and manipulation for spine and extremities including craniosacral technique. Angela has been a member of the North American Spine Society since 2000. She has been lecturing in Central Ohio for the past 15 years.
Gabe Clark, MPT, OTR/L, OCS, Florida Orthopedic Institute, Tampa, Florida. Mr. Clark is a licensed physical therapist and occupational therapist in the state of Ohio. Gabe relocated to Florida in 2015 where he now practices in an outpatient clinic. He obtained both his BS in Occupational Therapy and Masters of Physical Therapy from The Ohio State University. Gabe is also a board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. He has attended comprehensive course training in Manual Medicine Techniques from the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Michigan State University including Muscle Energy, and Craniosacral Techniques. Gabe has continued his manual therapy training with Angela Darragh in the Spine Mentor Program at OrthoNeuro. He has completed over 500 hours of direct one on one training in the treatment of patients with complex spine conditions utilizing manual techniques.
Accreditation
This course is approved for 12 CE by the FPTA for the Physical Therapist and Physical Therapist Assistant, and would apply towards 12 BOC Category D credits for the Athletic Trainer.
Registration Fee: $450.00
Cancellation/Refund Policy: A full refund less 10% will be returned to the participant if registration is cancelled at least 10 days prior to the event. No refund will be offered for cancellation less than 10 days prior to event but participants may transfer registration fee to another course offered within a 12 month period.
