Resilient Lehigh Valley Office Hours

The COVID-19 pandemic has proved to be a challenging time for all of us. Much of the burden has fallen on teachers and school administration, who have been called upon to radically change the way they teach in order to accommodate both in-school and remote learning. While educators focus on making these dramatic and on-going changes, they are often required to deal with students who are stressed, having difficulty coping with new learning venues, and may have limited supervision. Counselors and Mental Health Professionals in the schools are equally burdened, and may not have the capacity to assist teachers with new and challenging student behaviors.

Pinebrook Family Answers, Resilient Lehigh Valley and United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley have teamed up to offer virtual “Office Hours”, an opportunity for teachers and other school personnel to ask questions of mental health professionals, trauma experts and school-based behavioral health staff. The focus of this one-hour virtual discussion is to identify difficulties that individual teachers may be facing and offer an opportunity to brainstorm both the antecedents to these behaviors and some strategies for addressing them. Other questions that the panelists can address relate to managing stress and the many challenges facing all of us.

Please join us to share both your questions and ideas with fellow educators!
