This year's pandemic has changed so much in the normalcy that we once took for granted. As we head into the holiday season, a time of festivity and tradition, facing challenges can influence our ability to feel a sense of gratitude, yet it is essential to our wellbeing.
The good news is that a growing reservoir of research literature has found a direct correlation between gratitude and journaling. The findings indicate outcomes such as improving the quality of sleep and relationships, increasing happiness, and likely strengthening the immune system, dropping blood pressure, and generally keeping you healthier.
Simply writing and putting words on paper is known to enhance our mental health. A daily practice of as little as five minutes of journaling can result in many positive outcomes and improvements to your quality of life. As it provides you with the opportunity to take a moment to reflect, writing, and reading about all the little and big things that you are grateful for- making you happy and improving your mood.
As we continue to adapt to the new normal of social distancing, virtual technology, and wearing masks, we would like to treat our friends with a journal and some-thing sweet this season.
