This month marks the 250th Anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's birth, a musical genius who was born into a time with even more upheaval than our own.

This talk will delve into Beethoven’s life and his importance as a German composer. In the end, you will understand why Beethoven’s music ranks amongst the most performed of the classical music repertoire.

Join us as we will celebrate the arguably most famous German composer on his 250th birthday:

 Wednesday, December 16, 2020

The first 25 minutes will be spent with Dr. Bertolet exploring the Revolutionary period when Beethoven is writing music. It is an important time in German history and German cultural identity. Dr. Bertolet will share Beethoven’s career and his importance as the first successful self-employed composer, and how he influences the way music was composed and listened to. Followed with 5 minutes Q & A. The last part will be a recorded Beethoven's Third Symphony performed by Beethoven Orchester Bonn
