Private Pilot Ground School - Winter 2021

January 6 through February 27, 2021

Wednesdays 6p-9p & Saturdays 9a -12p

Learning to fly is fun!  But you do have to hit the books in order to learn the material that can't be covered in the cockpit. While you can certainly take care of studying on your own, most people prefer to attend a classroom course. Not only will this ensure you cover all the material, but it will also provide the structure and organization to get you through the required material in an organized and timely manner.

The 8-week Private Pilot Ground School course will introduce you to everything you need to know to pass the FAA Private written exams. Topics include airplane systems, aerodynamics, airport environments, proper communications and phraseology, meteorology, Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), aircraft performance, charts and navigation, and human factors.

This is an intense class that provides a great deal of information in a short timeframe. Think of it like a college-level course. Students should plan to spend an additional 3-6 hours/week studying outside of class.

This session starts on January 6th and runs through February 27th. Class will be held on Wednesday evening from 6-9pm and Saturday mornings from 9a-12pm.

The cost of the class is $300.00. An optional (but highly recommended!) Ground School Essentials Bundle is available for the special price of $199 + tax and it contains all the materials and supplies you need to complete the ground school class. This bundle is normally $225.  Reserve your bundle during registration and pay for it the first day of class.

Class space is limited, so don't wait to register!

Due to social distancing concerns, all BAFC ground schools are currently being held online via Microsoft Teams. Instructor will email meeting invitations prior to the start of the course.

Please note: participants must be at least 15 years old at the start of class.
