This workshop will help you de-mystify business plan writing by answering these questions so you can get going on this very important tool for your new or existing business.

Do you need a business plan?  Why?  What will it do for you?  How do you write one?  Where do you get the information to put together an effective plan?  Business plan templates look so intimidating—how do you use one without going crazy?  What tools can you use to help you?

These are questions that most first time business plan writers ask:

  • The basic parts of a business plan
  • What lenders and investors expect from the plan
  • How long does it have to be?
  • How often does it need to be updated?
  • Who else needs to see it?
  • Initial thoughts on how are the financial statements derived?

In addition, the workshop will present an introduction to an extremely useful tool you can use to present the important factors of your business on a chart—the Business Model Canvas (BMC).  The BMC is widely used by all sorts of organizations from startups to major corporations, government entities and non-profits to brainstorm and visualize business in an easy-to-understand format.
