Supported Employment Leadership: Focusing on Best Practices

Webinar Description

Supported employment services can sometimes feel messy and random. Providers are constantly having to think on their feet and outside of the box. The purpose of this webinar is to provide tools and strategies to assist with navigating employment services and discuss the focus around the employment first initiative. We will show methods of tracking employment data to provide efforts toward best outcomes and look at how to blend services and shift roles to best support the individuals we serve.

Presenters:

Amber Marsh

Amber Marsh graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Amber has worked in supported employment services for a little over ten years. For the past four years, she has served as the Supported Employment Director for North Eastern Services. Currently, Amber is serving as the Utah Chapter President for a national organization called APSE, which focuses on the employment first initiative. Amber has worked in depth with ODEP in regard to the HCBS settings rule, tracking supported employment data and using best practices to ensure best outcomes.

Neil Allred

Neil Allred graduated from UVU with a Bachelors in psychology and a Masters in business. Neil has worked at North Eastern Services for 18 years. For the past 5 years, he has served as the Vice President for the company and has expanded his role in the field by serving on several provider committees. When Neil first started at NES, he specifically worked in Supported Employment. He then moved into a supervisor role, overseeing Day Service and Supported Employment for about 8 years. Neil has always found joy in seeing how employment is able to change someone's life. When the HCBS initiative started to roll out, he could see the value in diving deeper into the lives of the individuals. As the vision continues to expand at North Eastern Services, Neil looks forward to assisting all individuals in living their best life through employment and community inclusion.
