8th Grade Confirmation 2021

Confirmation is a time for 8th graders to explore the Christian faith and begin to make decisions about how they will live out that faith.  Considered a milestone in life, McFarlin takes Confirmation seriously, as we challenge our students to grow closer to God through Jesus Christ, recogniziing they are created in God's image, understanding the power of the Holy Spirit at work in their lives, and realizing they are on this earth of a purpose and a reason.

Confirmation begins on Sunday, January 3, 2021 with a gathering of parents and students.  Confirmation Sunday will be Sunday, April 25, 2021.

An important part of Confirmation will be the Confirmation Retreat, which will take place April 23-24, 2021. Depending on the ability to gather together, we will keep you all updated about how we will conduct the Confirmaiton retreat as that time comes closer.

To help cover the costs associated with Confirmation, we ask for a donation of $75. This includes the cost of the retreat.  Scholarship money is available. In addition, because we think that missions are so important to living out the life of a Follower of Christ, so we hope that Confirmands will be part of the Spring Break Mission.

We encourage students to be part of Awakening (Sunday School) on Sunday mornings, 10am over ZOOM, and for students and their families to attend worship on Sunday mornings.  This helps round out the Confirmation experience.
