As an employment attorney and human resources expert, Krista L. Mitzel brings extensive experience as she works with executives and human resource professionals to create preventative strategies in all areas of employment law and general business best practices. She partners with companies to create comprehensive strategies on all employment, human resources, business and risk management issues and directs and manages all litigation matters to a successful resolution. 

Prior to founding The Mitzel Group, Krista worked for various prestigious law firms where she represented Fortune 50 clients in high-stakes disputes. Her working experience with Senator Dianne Feinstein Washington DC and other local politicians in the Bay Area inspired her to pursue her law degree.

 Krista has been actively involved in organizations that support women in leadership.  She acts as the membership chairman for the San Francisco chapter of the Women Presidents’ Organization and leading the Bay Area Womens’ Affinity Group for a professional business development group Provisors. She served as an adjunct professor at Golden Gate University Law School where she taught and mentored fledgling attorneys on Legal Writing and Research best practices. She is a frequent speaker at conferences and is a sought-after fixer for a company’s stickiest situations that other lawyers were unable to resolve.

Bill Metke counsels our clients on a broad range of matters as they navigate the intricacies of California employment law. When workplace complications arise, our clients turn to Bill for advice and reassurance, no matter how thorny the problem is at hand.  Having been a civil litigator for nearly twenty years, Bill has represented countless clients before the California and Federal courts, state administrative bodies, and in private arbitration.  Bill’s comprehensive and strategic approach to dispute resolution helps our clients to better understand and manage the often-complicated and stressful world of litigation.   While specializing in employment law, Bill has also defended clients in trade secret and other commercial litigation, as well as personal injury and wrongful death matters.  In addition, Bill also maintained a successful solo litigation practice in San Francisco for eight years.

Speaker: Ernie D. Mejia , Associate Attorney, The Mitzel Group

Ernie Mejia brings fresh energy to our labor & employment law team. From onboarding new employees to supporting clients through employee separation when necessary, Ernie works with clients to assist them with the complex HR side of operating a business. In addition, he works on creating and updating employee handbooks to ensure compliance with the ever-changing local, state and federal employment laws. 
Ernie currently participates in USF’s Academic and Bar Exam Success Program (ABES) mentoring current students on preparing for the California state bar exam.
