“Vertical Problems: Deep Bite and Open Bite Treatment with Clear Aligner Technique” 2 CE

Deep Bite and Open Bite malocclusions are ideally suited for clear aligner treatment. Innovations for both deep bite and open bite malocclusions will be discussed. These include precision bite ramps, optimized deep bite attachments and pressure areas for deep bite correction and optimized anterior extrusive attachments for open bite treatment. Biomechanics and anchorage requirements for clinically predictable outcomes will be discussed and these will be illustrated with clinical cases.

Learning objectives:

After this lecture, the learner will:
1.  Be able to select deep bite and open bite cases that may be suitable for clear aligner treatment
2. Understand the biomechanics and anchorage considerations for deep bite and open bite correction
3. Be able to incorporate SmartForce features into the ClinCheck software design plan

 

“Invisalign® with Mandibular Advancement: A solution for Class II treatment in growing patients” 2 CE

Invisalign with Mandibular Advancement for Class II, growing, retrognathic patients will be presented as a new modality for Class II treatment. Case selection, setting up the ClinCheck plan and clinical protocols will be illustrated with clinical cases. A research study carried out at the University of British Columbia, comparing treatment with Twin Block functional appliances and Invisalign® with Mandibular Advancement, looking at dental, skeletal and soft tissue changes will be presented.

Learning Objectives;

After this lecture, the learner will:
1.  Be able to select appropriate cases for treatment with Invisalign® with Mandibular Advancement.
2. Understand the various stages of treatment such as pre-MA phase, post-MA phase and what is clinically required for each phase of treatment
3. Be able to understand differences between treatment of dolichofacial Class II skeletal patterns and brachyfacial Class II skeletal patterns.
