Karen Stiller's book, The Minister's Wife (Tyndale House, 2020), is “a memoir of faith, doubt, friendship, loneliness, forgiveness and more” that examines with realism and love the dynamics of living in community as neither clergy nor parishioner. Karen will share her experience as the intimate ‘other’ who navigates a shifting balance of boundary and grace as well as the saving art of self-reflection and the necessity of perspective when she joins host Cathy Tyndall Boyd for our inaugural conversation.

In addition to authoring The Minister’s Wife and co-authoring Craft, Cost & Call: How to Build a Life as a Christian Writer (Friesen Press, 2019), Karen’s writing has appeared in Reader’s Digest, The Walrus, Christianity and other publications. She is senior editor of Faith Today magazine, hosts the Faith Today Podcast, and moderates the annual Religion and Society series at the University of Toronto that seeks to generate critical conversations on matters of faith, society and public interest through debate between leading atheists and theologians. Married to Brent, an Anglican priest, Karen is, of course, a minister’s wife and mom to three grown children.

Cathy has been a clergy spouse for 40 years, and a priest for 14 years. Currently rector of St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Williamsburg VA, she has served in lay and ordained ministry in the dioceses of Texas, Lexington, and Milwaukee.
