Great Power Competition & National Intelligence: A Conversation with Intelligence Managers 2.1.21

Great power competition has required shifts in the way the Intelligence Community does business, even as we were already adapting to an information landscape saturated with fact and fiction. Competition with China and Russia requires effective decision-making based on predictive analysis for globe-spanning issues, presenting invigorating challenges and opportunities.  To do the mission, today’s Intelligence Community must work smarter to understand, predict, and inform U.S. policymakers.  The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) National Intelligence Manager for Russia, Europe, and Europe (NIM-REE) and the National Intelligence Manager for East Asia (NIM-EA) will speak from their perspectives. National Intelligence Managers serve as the bridge between policymakers and the Intelligence Community to orient and guide collection and analytic needs. One of their key responsibilities is to identify gaps between what our policy makers need and what the Intelligence Community can provide to close these gaps.
