Preceptor 101

Foundational Skills for Preceptor Development

What is a Preceptor?

A preceptor is an experienced clinical practitioner who guides new employees, new graduates, and students through the onboarding and competency validation process of unique clinical environments.

Bridging the gap between what a student learns in school and the real clinical world is increasingly challenging as our health care system becomes more and more complex. The same holds true for other practitioners who wish to change practice environments or positions.

In this series for novice and experienced preceptors, we will provide a set of tools that will serve you well as you embark on this new and expanded role! This series will be presented virtually and live.

Who should attend?

Clinicians interested in precepting.

Are you a provider who would like to expand your role and expertise to mentor others around you with the ultimate goal of providing the highest quality care for your client population? Clinical professionals (APRN, PA, DDS, MD, DO, PharmD) are encouraged to participate.

Presented entirely online...

All you need is a device with a camera and a willingness to learn in this unique fashion!  This series will be presented in five one-hour online segments: March 3, 10, 17, 24 & 31, 2021 from 7:30 am - 8:30 am MST.
