Autism Spectrum Disorder: Foundation Training  for Paraprofessionals and Other Support Staff 

Live via Zoom Training


This "Live via Zoom" 2-day training is designed for paraprofessionals, teacher assistants, Head Start providers and other school support staff who serve students with ASD. Upon completion participants will have practical information regarding how ASD affects classroom performance. Effective strategies and supports will be provided.

Course Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the core characteristics of ASD.
  • Understand the importance of their role a team member.
  • Identify evidence-based practices.
  • Address challenging behavior through preventative strategies and supports.
  • Hear a different perspective from an individual with autism and parents of children with autism
  • Understand how to motivate change within their teams.

The Zoom link will be emailed to every registrant the day before the training begins.
