The PNWS Diversity and Inclusion Committee Presents: A Panel Discussion and Social on Being Your Authentic Self

What Does It Mean to Be Your Authentic Self?

Most employers and organizations promote bringing your whole, authentic self into the workplace to create a more welcoming working environment. This concept, in reality is complex and hard to navigate at times. As humans, we have a fundamental need to feel included which often leads to unauthenticity in the workplace and in our organizations for fear of being rejected in some form. Constantly switching between our authentic and inauthentic selves is tiring, causes burnout and limits innovation. Next time you find yourself pausing or changing your word choices in order to conform, don't second guess yourself. By allowing more of your authentic self to shine with your colleagues, you may encourage others to do the same!

Join the PNWS D&I Committee for our first hosted event - an evening where we will hear from a variety of panelists who are willing to share their stories and experiences on "being their authentic self" in the workplace and professional organizations.  This will be followed by small breakout groups for discussion.
