This virtual, interactive workshop will focus on preventing interpersonal relationship violence among teens.
Discussion will include practical, cost-effective, evidence-based strategies to reduce violence and promote recovery of young victims, as well as networking and collaboration opportunities among attendees, which will include educators, practitioners, advocates and others who work with Nebraska middle school- and high school-age youth.
Katie Edwards, associate professor, CYFS and educational psychology, and Emily Waterman, Interpersonal Violence Research Laboratory faculty affiliate, will outline definitions, statistics, causes and consequences of teen dating violence and sexual violence, and will provide an overview of strategies to reduce dating and sexual violence in youth and promote recovery among victims.
