2021 Southwest California Synod Assembly - Voting Members 

The deadline for Voting Members to register is Wednesday May 26.

This registration form is for individual VOTING MEMBERS of the 2021 SWCA Synod Assembly only. If you are unsure about your voting status, please contact Samantha Henderson at shenderson@socalsynod.org. Each voting member must use their own email address to register. This is necessary for the credentialing of voting members. Each voting member must also use their own device (computer, tablet, etc.) during the assembly.  While voting members can view the assembly together on one device, if desired, separate devices for each voting member will be required in order to vote.

Voting members serve on behalf of all the people of the Southwest California Synod. To be a voting member is to be entrusted by your congregation to make decisions for the well-being of our synod and the whole church. The 2021 SWCA Synod Assembly will be held virtually from June 4 - 5, and voting members will pass the synod budget, receive reports from synod ministries and partners, and elect the Synod Bishop as well as fill numerous council and committee positions. Voting members for the 2022 Churchwide Assembly will also be elected. Voter resources and Bulletin of Reports are available here. 

Information will be made available as soon as possible about participating in this virtual event and about LUMI, the voting platform that will be utilized at the 2021 SWCA Synod Assembly. To ensure you receive important information regardng the assembly and elections, please add news@socalsynod.org to the list of "safe conacts" for the email address you use to register. 

All voting members must have: 

1) an email address that is not shared by any other voting member for assembly and voting platform access during the assembly; 
2) access to an internet-connected device (desktop computer, laptop computer, or tablet) that is not shared by any other voting member for assembly and voting platform access during the assembly; and 
3) access to an adequate internet/wifi connection during the course of the assembly. 

It is the responsibility of congregations and congregational offices to make sure that their voting members receive technological support during the assembly, if needed. 

Assembly Fees

The Congregational Registration fee for one called Rostered Minister and two lay voting members for the 2021 Synod Assembly is $395. If your congregation paid the early bird registration fee for the 2020 Assembly, a refund for the difference will be issued, or the congregation has the option of donating the difference to assist underfunded congregations with assembly costs. You do not have to pay any fees to register. If your congregation has not prepaid the registration fee, an invoice will be issued. Voting members should register as soon as possible, whether or not their congregation's assembly fees have been paid. 

Additional Rostered Minister Under Call (clergy or deacon) – $50

Additional Lay Voting Member (congregations are informed if the size of their membership entitles them to an additional lay voting member or members) – $50

Additional confirmed Youth Voting Member: each congregation is entitled and encouraged to register an additional Youth (under 18) or Young Adult (18 – 30) voting member as part of their congregation's representation – NO ADDITIONAL REGISTRATION FEE 

Rostered Minister under Synodical or Special Call – $50 

Rostered Minister currently: on leave from call; disabled; retired; or persons who are serving in synodically-approved or synodically-appointed pastoral capacities in congregations and other ministries of this synod granted both voice and vote – $50

Synod Council Member – NO FEE
