Building Your Organization's Preservation Program - 2-Part Webinar (04/19-20/21)


These two 90-minute workshop sessions will cover preservation and archiving issues for cultural heritage collections.

Participants will learn about the basic elements of a preservation plan for their organization. Planning exercises will help institutions prioritize next steps for creating or updating institutional preservation policies and plans.

The workshop will include virtual exercises where participants will review and discuss storage issues and environmental concerns, and develop potential solutions. 

Virtual Trainer: Thomas F.R. Clareson, LYRASIS

Tom Clareson is Project Director of the Performing Arts Readiness project, funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to help performing arts organizations nationwide learn how to protect their assets, sustain operations, and be prepared for emergencies. He serves as Senior Consultant for Digital & Preservation Services at LYRASIS, consulting and teaching nationally and internationally on preservation, disaster preparedness, digitization, digital preservation, special collections/archives, remote storage, funding, strategic planning, and advocacy for libraries, archives, and museums. Clareson serves as Vice President on the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Advancement in Conservation.

This is an online class. Access information will be emailed one week ahead.

Cost: NEFLIN classes are free of charge for Florida library staff. Registration is required for all classes and NEFLIN members get priority.
