Dr. Matthew W. Gallagher, is Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology at the Texas Institute of for Measurement, Evaluation, and Statistics at the University of Houston. He has studied the impact of hope on all life outcomes, and is currently researching how to assess and promote hope across individuals of all backgrounds.
Jean Boyd is the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Student Athlete Development at Arizona State University. He leads Sun Devil Athletics' commitment to graduating and preparing student-athletes to become high achievers in life. He also coordinates student-athlete well-being programs and leads the department's diversity and inclusion efforts. Boyd is the 2012 Lan Hewelett Award winner - given to the top academic professional by the National Associate of Academic Advisors for Athletes.
In 2005 Boyd co-founded Scholar Baller®, a non-profit organization which promotes academic and life achievement through motivational academic incentives and educational initiatives. Scholar Baller® provides culturally relevant educational and incentive-based programs at the middle school, high school and college levels and has been adopted by over 50 colleges and universities. Boyd continues to be committed to his life passion of empowering young people through education and sport and to maximize their human potential.
