About the presenter

Anita York is a partner with the law firm of Scott & Whitehead and devotes her practice to the representation of employers. Her counseling practice includes assisting and advising employers on a broad range of employment-related matters, including the review and preparation of employee handbooks, harassment prevention training, independent contractor status analysis, employee onboarding, management, discipline and discharge, and many other employment issues that today’s employers face. In addition, Anita conducts internal investigations and counsels clients who are conducting their own internal workplace investigations. Anita York is a member and past chair of the Orange County Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section. 

What to expect 

Anita York has drafted hundreds of employee handbooks for employers of all sizes and industries.  In this unique presentation, she will cover the dos and don’ts of employee handbooks, as well as review the critical items they should contain. Employers will be armed with information they can use immediately to review their existing handbooks and determine what actions should take to ensure that the most significant topics are covered, and that it is both current and compliant. Anita will also provide solid information for new employee handbooks, as well as a detailed understanding of why various policies should, or should not, be included and the different options they have in creating them. An evaluation of sample policies rounds off this important webinar.
