Discover the beauty of Zentangle through elegant line drawing, taught using repetitive patterns one stroke at a time. The course starts creating an abstract piece of mini art in traditional Zentangle method, mindful and relaxing, where focus is placed on the beauty of the journey. The completed art is just the destination but is the unexpected prize. From there we turn on the fun to explore whimsical houses; the wonkier the houses the better! No art experience is needed for this fun and creative class. You will be stepped through each piece of art
For first-timers to Zentangle, a kit is required at the cost of $13. This will include all the tools and paper needed
Having extra scrap paper to hand is recommended to try concepts out prior to putting them on your paper.
Feel free to have colored pencils handy in case you wish to expand on the fun!
For returnees, you will need your black 01 Micron pen, pencil and tortillon. A wider tipped black marker pen is also recommended (i.e. Sakura Pigma Graphic 1 brush pen, Sharpie or other) for night sky fill-in. Just check to see that your black Micron ink and the wider marker ink color are similar. In addition to those you will need cardstock, low rag watercolor paper (Canxon XL cold press 140lb is perfect!) or similar cut as follows:
1 piece of 3.5” x 3.5”
3 pieces of 5” x 5”
2 pieces of 5” x 7”
