Please join us for our third webinar in the NED 2021 series on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 2PM ET
Individuals travel internaitonally for many reasons as we all know well as travel health nurses. A population this is on the increase are persons seeking medical care outside of the United States. Historically patients sought treatments either not available in the US (such as certain plastic surgery procedures) or sought treatments with non FDA approved therapeutics (such as cancer treatments with drugs not licensed in the U.S). Increasingly, however, cost is a primary factor for choosing to obtain medical and dental care abroad. Indeed, some U.S. insurance plans favor out of country care and provide patients with incentives to schedule elective procedures outside the U.S.
Travel health nurses (THNs) will want to learn more about this growing industry (valued at $30B in 2019) and understand best practices for supporting patients who travel internationally for medical, surgical, and dental services. What are critical pre-and post travel issues for this population?
