Mental Health and Family Business

The mental health of our community, our work place, our family, and ourselves has become even more of a priority after this last year of uncertainty, isolation, and loss.  The change and challenges that Covid has presented this year from lack of connection, lack of ceremonies and celebrations, risk to health, relationship dynamics, financial uncertainty, job security, working from home (who has a sore back from lack of ergonomics?), to shifts in how we work has affected all families but poses even more complications for families that live together and work together!

Please join me for this event where I will equip you with a hands on approach to boundaries, communication, and tending your mental health and resilience on a daily basis.   These skills will benefit you, your family, and your employees as you move forward through this pandemic and beyond.  I will briefly explore the signs and symptoms of declining mental health, share my version of counselling, and what I hope people will get out of their sessions, explore the common reasons that bring people to counselling, and provide some information on counselling resources in the community.

Jennifer LePage, BSW, RSW:

Jennifer has been working with Adult Mental Health and Addiction Services as a Mental Health Counsellor for 18 years. She spent 12 of those years working at the University of Saskatchewan Student Wellness center with an interdisciplinary team (nurses, doctors, psychiatrists, massage, chiropractor, and dietitian) doing counselling with university students of all ages.

Jennifer uses a variety of counselling methods to assist people in connecting with themselves, seeing their own worth, providing themselves permission to create boundaries based on their needs, and build positive relationships in their world. She believes that a large component of mental health is affected by our sleep, our eating, our movement, our connections, and our self-care.

Her specialties are Mental Health Social Work, Individual and Couples work, Mindfulness, Anxiety, Depression, Grief and Loss Counselling, ADHD, sexual abuse, eating disorders, and addictions counselling using Systems Theory, CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Strength Based Counselling.
