Indian Trail Animal Hospital VET CAMP:

Summer 2021

We love veterinary medicine and animal healthcare careers and want to share our knowledge with young people that are as passionate about animals as we are. Campers will learn about animal health and have many opportunities for hands on experience.

Between Indian Trail Animal Hospital and Vet REC: Veterinary Rehabilitation and Exercise Clinic, we have 6 veterinarians and a wonderful support staff with a wealth of knowledge to share. Our Camp director is a former teacher and guidance counselor.  During her last 3 years as an elementary school guidance counselor, Yukon, her therapy dog, worked with her providing therapy to her students. She has worked with children in an educational setting for over 20 years.

We are offering 1 day experiences for Adventures in Veterinary Medicine

Below is a glimpse of what the camp session will include but is not limited to...

Adventures in Veterinary Medicine:

-Learn about and practice safe interaction with dogs and cats

-Have hands-on experience with animal guests

-Receive a behind the scenes tour of Vet-REC Rehabilitation Clinic or Indian Trail Animal Hospital

-Examine alternative careers with dogs including K-9 deputies and pet daycare and boarding

-Determining which common foods and products are toxic to your pets

-Understanding how to communicate with dogs by learning their body language

-Practicing with common veterinary tools

-Making a fun cat toy
