Using Humor in Play Therapy Supervision

Presented by Jessica Warrick, MS, LPCC-S, RPT

Research shows that humor has strong therapeutic value. A supervision relationship infused with humor can break down barriers, make critiques less painful and provide a playful platform for growth.

In this training, we will look at what the research says about the use of humor in therapeutic relationships and how this information can be applied to the Play Therapy supervision. We will explore supervision through a humanistic lens and examine illustrations of how to apply humor in a supervision relationship.

Cost:

OAPT members: FREE Non- OAPT members: $50

Out of State APT members: $40 Students: $25

Registration closes on May 9, 2021

Objectives:

1. Explore through a humanistic lens how humor enhances a therapeutic relationship in play therapy supervision.

2. Examine common supervision topics in Play Therapy Supervision.

3. Increase comfort level to apply humor to play therapy supervision skills in 1-3 meaningful ways.
