In acknowledgment of Earth Day, we are hosting a composting webinar with one of our awesome alumni who is an expert in composting.

Did you know that 40% of food waste ends up in our landfills? If you have thought of becoming more sustainable by composting, then join us for our presentation about the Five Easy Steps to Home Composting. No yard? No problem. There are many different ways to compost.

Join our presenter, Colleen Falicki '97, for an educational presentation and Q&A during our composting webinar.

We’ll talk about:

  • How to get started inside your home to set yourself up for success
  • Where to set-up your compost bin and the five easy steps to make compost happen
  • How to tell when your compost is finished and what to do with the finished product.

About our alumni presenter

Colleen Falicki '97, Owner and Founder of Back to Earth Compost Crew, LLC
Colleen earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in communications, radio/TV, from Shippensburg University in 1997 and has always been concerned for the environment & looks for ways to educate herself to become more holistic & sustainable.

Since having her first child in 2005, she became deeply passionate about leaving the world a better place for her children & their children. She began composting & choosing foods & products in a different way. After having her second child, she became a volunteer co-leader of the Montgomery County Chapter of the Holistic Mom’s Network and did so for five years.

As a way to support others on their sustainability journey, in 2017, Falicki founded Back to Earth Compost Crew. Their mission is to keep food waste out of landfills and back into the soil in the community. Her company provides residential curbside compost pickup, commercial compost pickup, compost collection sites and compost education in the Suburban Philadelphia area. She is passionate about supporting other small local businesses and giving back to the community.
