Nature Journaling Basics Session 1

Please join us for a free two day outdoor professional learning workshop. We will cover the basics of nature journaling using Durham Ferry Outdoor Education Center's riparian ecosystem. Nature journaling ignites curiosity and develops a sense of belonging to the natural world. We will work on skills that will increase your understanding of the NGSS Crosscutting Concepts and Science and Engineering Practices. We strongly believe that nature is everywhere, therefore nature journaling can be done with any age group students at any schoolyard.

Participants will receive:

The participation fee is paid for by the California Environmental Literacy Project Grant.

During this workshop we will go on an out-and-back three mile hike that includes walking up and down uneven surfaces and sandy hills. Please wear good hiking shoes, head cover, bug spray and bring water. It is a good idea to bring a portable chair.
