Design surrounds us every day; from the moment we wake up, we are interacting with things that were built to be used a certain way. People think of design at first in the context of digital experiences; how to answer a call or place an order on Amazon, but it goes beyond this. Design guides the decisions we make, how we move around our physical spaces and even influences how we feel. We’ll talk about what the psychology of design is, how it can create beauty but also hurt those that use the experiences and products we put out into the world. We’ll touch on concepts of accessibility, research, testing and some of the fun tools and methods designers use to help bring experiences to life.
