Westborough Youth and Family Services (WYFS), in collaboration with Westborough Connects, is seeking unpaid caregivers to participate in a free training aimed to foster emotional resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Who can participate in the training?

  • Unpaid caregivers living in Westborough or caring for someone in Westborough.
  • No prior experience with or knowledge of mental health issues required

What to expect in the training:

  • Recognize signs and symptoms of mental health distress, beyond day-to-day stress.
  • Address the unique ways that unpaid caregivers may be vulnerable to distress due to the pandemic.
  • Identify tools and strategies to manage distress.
  • Learn how to support others who are in distress.
  • Learn about resources and access help for yourself or others.

 Training details:

  • Free small-group training delivered via Zoom or other virtual platform.
  • The facilitator, a mental health professional from Open Sky Community Services, will customize the training to meet the unique needs of unpaid caregivers during the pandemic.
  • Training will last under two hours.
  • Language interpretation and/or translation is available for free, as requested.
  • Accommodations will be made to ensure technology access needed for the training.

This program is made possible by grant funding from the MetroWest Health Foundation.
