Emotional resiliency training for unpaid caregivers
Westborough Youth and Family Services (WYFS), in collaboration with Westborough Connects, is seeking unpaid caregivers to participate in a free training aimed to foster emotional resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Who can participate in the training?
- Unpaid caregivers living in Westborough or caring for someone in Westborough.
- No prior experience with or knowledge of mental health issues required
What to expect in the training:
- Recognize signs and symptoms of mental health distress, beyond day-to-day stress.
- Address the unique ways that unpaid caregivers may be vulnerable to distress due to the pandemic.
- Identify tools and strategies to manage distress.
- Learn how to support others who are in distress.
- Learn about resources and access help for yourself or others.
Training details:
- Free small-group training delivered via Zoom or other virtual platform.
- The facilitator, a mental health professional from Open Sky Community Services, will customize the training to meet the unique needs of unpaid caregivers during the pandemic.
- Training will last under two hours.
- Language interpretation and/or translation is available for free, as requested.
- Accommodations will be made to ensure technology access needed for the training.
