The Changing Workforce & Workplace — May 13 Morning Webinar

"Neverwaste a good crisis,” as the saying goes.  As we explored at the April 29 webinar, the last 13+ months have compelled us to change how — and where — our work is done. This session expands that discussion into how work itself is shifting in an emerging post-pandemic world to meet the changing needs of our workforce, many of whom have declared they never want to “go back” to the office.  This is requiring shifts in our leadership, how we communicate, our work environment, and in nearly every process that is intended to ensure that our workforce is effective, from recruiting to training/development to performance management.

The Wisconsin Center for Performance Excellence  in partnership with The Performance Excellence Network and  the St. Paul Area Chamber — is pleased to host an online webinar discussion on Thursday, May 13: “The Changing Workforce & Workplace.”

Join us as we take a deep dive into how COVID has changed our workforce and our workplace.  With more employees choosing to work from home (an estimate of 80% of the US workforce is still working from home at least a majority of the time), what does that mean for an organization?  How can organizations retain the best of the virtual/remote/flexible model, but also get back to the office?  How can leaders maintain their culture with a split or hybrid workforce in a post-pandemic world?

We’ll hear from three speakers, each exploring what could be permanent changes in how we work:

  • Nancy Lyons, owner/CEO of Clockwork and author of Work Like a Boss: A Kick-in-the-Pants Guide to Finding (and Using) Your Power at Work — will explore the changing nature of work and how leaders can preserve (or enhance) their organization’s culture as work models continue to shift
  • Tina Hoye, president & principal at Real Estate Services, the NTH Team, will explore required shifts in physical work space — ensuring workplace health, safety & accessibility in a shifting work environment
  • And a third speaker TBA will focus on the shifting aspects of work related to our people — drivers of workforce engagement, performance management & development, managing change, and equity & inclusion — as work-related models shift

Each speaker will have about 10-12 minutes to share their insights, after which, we’ll welcome questions and discussion with attendees.

As work environments continue to evolve – and will for much of this and likely future years – come explore how others are adapting and optimizing how work gets done.

This session is Thursday, May 13 from 8:00-9:00 CT (optional speed networking and mingling 7:45-8:00), using Zoom MEETING.  Grab your coffee and breakfast, and join us for a rich discussion.  Free for PEN/SPAC/WCPE members; $20 for non-members.
