  • Steps you can take to be in compliance

Presenter

Cara Stewart is the Director of Policy Advocacy at Kentucky Voices for Health, a nonprofit advocacy organization and coalition focused on improving health care systems for consumers. An attorney, Cara worked nearly seven years at Legal Aid of the Bluegrass representing low-income Kentuckians primarily in houding matters in Northern Kentucky. She published a law review article about landlord tenant law in Kentucky. Cara moved to the Kentucky Equal Justice Center in June 2013 and conducted community education presentations across Kentucky to help implement the Affordable Care Act. She partnered with Southern Poverty Law Center and the National Health Law Program to file successful legal challenges to Governor Bevin's changes to Kentucky Medicaid. Cara now focuses on continuing those health care policy gains at Kentucky Voices for Health.

Registration closes 5 p.m. Monday, May 3, 2021.

About Interact for Health

Interact for Health is improving the health of all people in our region. We serve as a catalyst by promoting health equity through grants, education, research, policy and engagement. To amplify the impact of our work, Interact for Health focuses on three strategic priorities: reducing tobacco use, addressing the opioid epidemic and ensuring that children have access to health care through school-based health centers. We are an independent foundation that serves 20 counties in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. More information is available on our website, interactforhealth.org.
