District and School Administrator Focus Group for Commonwealth Education Continuum (CEC)

NKCES would like to invite you to participate in a focus group with other school and district leaders from NKCES to inform the work of the Commonwealth Education Continuum (CEC). This is an exciting opportunity to elevate the experiences of our region to make an impact at the state level.

Launched in January 2021, the CEC is a new statewide effort to help students successfully progress to and through each level of Kentucky’s education system, from early childhood through the workforce. This 27-member task force is co-chaired by Education and Workforce Development Cabinet Secretary Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman, Council on Postsecondary Education President Aaron Thompson, and Commissioner of Education Jason Glass.

This year, the CEC is focusing its work on three priority topics: (1) improving student transitions from high school to postsecondary, (2) increasing equitable access and success in early postsecondary opportunities, and (3) increasing the diversity of the teacher workforce. The CEC is interested in hearing directly from students, families, and practitioners from across the state to lift up both the challenges and opportunities in supporting student success in these areas.

You will be joined by approximately 10 to 15 other school and district leaders, and any feedback you share will remain anonymous. The focus group will take approximately 45 minutes.
