NAIFA IL End of Summer Spectacular

            Sept. 28-29, 2021 

Join us for a fun-filled and educational two-day event, the NAIFA IL End of Summer Spectacular will be held September 28-29, 2021 in Peoria!

On Sept. 28th, a golf outing will be held to raise funds and awareness of NAIFA’s Insurance and Financial Advisors Political Action Committee (IFAPAC). The golf outing will be held at one of Illinois' most spectacular Championship Golf Courses, Weaver Ridge Golf Club. Be sure to bring a client, colleague, spouse or friend!

On the morning of September 29th, the End of Summer Education Conference will be held at the Holiday Inn and Suites in East Peoria, and features great speakers including Jim Silbernagel, Angela Silbernagel, Bryan Orr, Xiao Chen and Laurie Adams.

Featured Speakers

Jim Silbernagel, CFP®, LACP, LUTCF®, CEPS

Jim Silbernagel is an independent agent registered with Concorde Investment Services, LLC. He entered the insurance industry in 1982 followed by the financial services industry in 1986. 

Jim is the creator and host of Real Wealth®, an online radio program for insurance and financial professionals to educate their clients and keep in touch with them between meetings. Jim also leads Power Session LIVE, a monthly best practice and sales ideas session with top industry leaders.

He is a Life and Qualifying Member of MDRT since 1995. He qualified for his first Court of the Table in 1998 and his first Top of the Table in 2001, putting him within the top 1% of financial advisors worldwide. Since 2002, Jim has been a Member of Forum 400, an elite organization comprised of leaders in production and innovation in financial services with only 280 advisor members nationwide who meet their qualifying criteria. Jim has been a passionate NAIFA Member since 1989.  

Jim is a keynote speaker, presenting for many industry groups and companies, including NAIFA, FPA, MDRT and Forum 400. Jim serves Middle America in Kewaskum, WI, a small town of 4,004 people. His mission in life is to make a positive, meaningful difference in people’s lives.

Angela Silbernagel

Angela  Silbernagel is a tech-loving millennial with a passion to help professionals implement effective marketing strategies within an organized process. She graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2014, and regularly attends 20+ conferences, seminars, and online workshops each year to continue expanding her knowledge of the ever-changing marketing world.

She helps develop the user-friendly logic and design of the Real Wealth® Marketing technology platform that allows for personalized automation. In her spare time, Angela loves to play board games, practice with her ukulele band “Ukerazy,” play beach volleyball in the summer, and host a monthly Book Club with her friends.

Bryan Orr

Bryan Orr started his career in individual disability insurance 20 years ago.  He has worked with three carriers specializing in DI over this time, as well as with one of the top Broker General Agencies in the DI marketspace.  His responsibilities have ranged from selling DI to physicians, serving as a Regional Vice President of Sales in the territory of Illinois and Wisconsin, to National Sales Manager responsible for DI in all 50 states.

Throughout his career, Bryan has been a resource as an educator and speaker regarding the importance of protecting one’s income.  He has spoken at NAIFA events in Utah, Colorado, Ohio and Illinois, NAHU events in Wisconsin, Michigan and Illinois, at an International DI Society National meeting, and at several regional events throughout the country.

Bryan is currently President of Disability Resource Group in Chicago, a disability brokerage agency.

Xiao Chen, CFEd

Xiao Chen is an investment advisor representative with Transamerica Financial Advisors, and a Senior Marketing Director with World Financial Group Insurance Agency, both at the Oakbrook Terrace branch.  Xiao is also a registry instructor with the Heartland Institute of Financial Education, while holding the Certified Financial Educator designation.

Born and having spent his childhood in China, Xiao came to the United States at age 12.  He has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Purdue University, and worked for six years in the IT industry.  It wasn’t until late 2011 that he discovered the financial services industry and started his journey of spreading financial literacy.  He became a full-time agency owner in 2015 and has established operations in 4 states and clients in over 10 states.  Throughout the last decade, Xiao has been actively educating clients and agents on a weekly basis through seminars and meetings, in English, as well as in Mandarin.  Xiao was honored multiple times by his company and was given a Top Producer award by Nationwide Financial in 2014.  He has qualified for the MDRT multiple times and was featured several times on the MDRT podcast and magazine. 

Xiao moved his home office to Illinois in 2015 and joined NAIFA in 2018.  Since joining, he has been proactively sharing about NAIFA and its mission.  In the last two years, Xiao has been the Social Media committee co-chair for NAIFA Chicagoland.

Xiao is the 2021 NAIFA IL YAT Member of the Year.

Laurie Adams, CFP, CLU, LUTCF, LACP

Laurie Adams is a Certified Financial Planning professional with COUNTRY Financial in Peoria, IL. For over 30 years she has helped clients meet their insurance and investment goals and regularly places near the top of COUNTRY’s advisor force. She was named their 2011 National Champion after tripling the previous company production record. Her record stands today. In 2019, Laurie was inducted into COUNTRY’s Hall of Fame. She is also a Lifetime and Qualifying Top of the Table Member of the Million Dollar Round Table.

An active volunteer, Laurie currently serves on the board of Leadership Illinois and the Estate Planning Council,  and as a debate and speech coach at University High School in Normal, helping them achieve a State Championship in 2013 and two National Championships. Laurie is a Past President of NAIFA-Illinois, as well as her local. Additionally, Laurie previously chaired the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors Communication committee and Member Benefits committee. She currently chairs the Governance committee. In 2017 she helped author the new LACP certification, contributing both content and test questions.

Laurie is a contributing columnist for NAIFA’s Advisor Today. She has been quoted in The Journal of Financial Planning,Investment News Weekly and the Peoria Journal Star. Laurie was a featured presenter at NAIFA’s National Career Conference in 2008 and 2018 and has spoken at numerous state conferences.

Laurie is the 2021 NAIFA IL Distinguished Service Award Recipient.
