This webcast commemorates the first direct air service between Amsterdam and New York City by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. The start of this service immediately after WW-II was not only symbolic for Dutch American relations, this route and the KLM service have played a key role in bringing the two countries ever closer together.
During this 60-minute special edition of NAF Live TV, recorded at Aviodrome, the national aviation museum in Lelystad, The Netherlands, aviation historians and specialists will recall this historical event. With original video footage and material and surrounded by historical aircraft that were main players on the route, they will discuss past, present and future of a route so well known to many.
This celebratory tip of the hat to the NAF’s main sponsor for many years, KLM, will make for an entertaining hour of aviation broadcasting!
