Female Fly Fishing Clinic

Ever thought about catching your own fish for dinner? Want to pick-up skills like casting and cooking your catch? Maybe you like the idea of renewing yourself by spending time near clean water. You can do all this in the Des Moines metro, in the company of other women!

Iowa Becoming an Outdoors-Woman and the Mayfly Siren, Carla Lemon, will be hosting a female fly fishing clinic at Terra Park in Johnston, IA. We'll work on practicing our casts, tying our lines and then spend the day fishing! 

Grab a friend and register as space is limited. No experience necessary; all fly fishing equipment will be provided. If you have your own, please bring it. Cost includes lunch and equipment. Participants must purchase an Iowa fishing license.

Participant Note: Please come dressed for the variable spring weather. This is an active, skills-based event.  Come prepared to get muddy on the banks of the lake and to get your hands dirty during our filet demo! Fishing rods and tackle will be provided, but participants may also bring their own.

1:00–3:30pm:  Gear discussion, Q&A and Fishing!
