An Online Program for Parents & Other Caring Adults
Keeping our kids safe sometimes means we need to have difficult conversations. It can be hard to set boundaries, ask for help, or resolve problems with relatives, teachers, directly with our kids, and former partners who still co-parent. You'll leave this online program with skills and strategies you can use right away to help these conversations be respectful, productive, effective, and more emotionally safe. You will learn how to:
Use assertive advocacy skills
Use a 'boundary bridge'
Set clear boundaries respectfully and calmly
Show calm and confident - even if you do not FEEL calm or confident!
Communicate boundaries with relatives who are in a position of power in the family
Ways to manage our own personal triggers
Protecting ourselves from emotional attacks
Recognize what stops people from setting boundaries - and how to prevent those things from stopping YOU
Persist in setting boundaries with institutions like school districts or health care providers
This US$60 program includes one-on-one support by email with questions before and after the workshop as well as links to resources - including 30-day access to a video recording of this kind of Parentpower program - to help you and your family apply, adapt, and practice the skills.
Workshop Fee: US$60/screen
Partial scholarships are available.
Pre-registration is required as there is limited space.
Donations over the amount of workshop fees are tax-deductible. We do not turn anyone away from our public workshops for lack of money. Partial scholarships are available.
