Cheryl helps teachers, instructional coaches, and school leaders hone their professional craft through the use of research- and evidence-based strategies for delivering engaging, effective instruction.
She is an expert on instructional strategies and coaching, use of technology for learning, positive school culture and climate, and supporting English language learners. Prior to joining McREL, Cheryl taught grades 1–12 for more than 20 years, and served as a national facilitator for a character education program. During the first two days, you'll dive deeply into the CITW's nine categories of instructional strategies, along with PD participants from across the country. As an instructional coach, you'll get additional resources, tips, and insights specific for your role.
The third day is reserved just for you, with professional learning, conversation, and collaboration focused on effective coaching approaches, structures, and techniques.
Designed for: instructional coaches and mentors, principals and assistant principals, central office PD leaders.
Small group format: This session will be capped at 40 registrants in order to maximize participant engagement and to allow for contextualized conversations and guidance.
